How it all began... ( Part 1)

In 2007, I went around Johor Bahru to find a pre-school for Tristan, my eldest boy. I was not satisfied with the schools that I visited. I was looking for an environment where my boy will flourish and learn with joy. He has a good memory and learns things very quickly. I wanted him to learn things from a school that he is not learning at home. I was so excited when I found Clover Learning Centre - a very simple and small Montessori establishment then. That is when I first fell in love with Montessori. From then on, there was no turning back.

In 2011, I took up an International Diploma in Montessori from Modern Montessori International Singapore. My journey in education has begun. As I learnt, I applied my knowledge. I am so amazed to see the theories come to life.

Here are some pictures of us started out on our Montessori right from our home. :)

“The first essential for the child’s development is concentration. The child who concentrates is immensely happy.” - Maria Montessori

Practical Life was the first module I had to take, seems pretty simple but yet profound.

What is Practical Life:
Practical: useful, purposeful.
Life: means the way of living.

Practical Life Exercises allow the child to learn how to live his life in a purposeful way.

"We can only give to each child the chance to fulfill his potential possibilities.” — Dr. Maria Montessori
